Ingredients

Pasta: Penne pasta.

Chicken: Cooked shredded chicken.

Sauce: Béchamel(onion, garlic,butter,flour and milk), cream cheese, parmesan cheese, nutmeg and white pepper.

Tomatoes: Diced roma tomatoes.

Garnish: Freshly chopped parsley.

How to make chicken pasta in creamy white sauce

Making sauce:

  • On a low heat in a heavy bottom pan or saucepan add butter. Allow to melt and add in your onions and cook till translucent. Add in your garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
  • Add in your flour and use a hand whisk to mix the mixture and form a roux. Once a roux is formed, cook for about 1-2 minutes, making sure there is no leftover flour. Pour in your milk and mix well. Make sure everything comes together before moving to the next step.

  • Bring to a light boil. You will notice it slowly thickening, so make sure you are constantly mixing it. To check if your sauce is thick enough, dip your spoon into the pot and make a swipe mark with your finger on the back of the spoon.   • Add your cream cheese, parmesan cheese and mix well. Season with nutmeg, white pepper and salt to taste.

Cooking chicken: Season your chicken breast with salt and white pepper and place it into a slow cooker. Cover your chicken breast with chicken stock or broth and allow to slow cook until fully cooked or reached 165F. Shred your chicken with a fork.

Cooking pasta: Cook pasta according to package instructions or until al dente.

Mixing everything together: To your pasta add your hot white sauce, shredded chicken, diced tomatoes and parsley. Mix everything together and serve right away.

  • 1 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 8oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp of white pepper
  • salt to taste
