What you need to make this recipe?
Corn: In its husk.
Jar: Jar with a lid or a bowl that can be covered.
Water: Cool water not hot and not too cold.
Seasoning/butter: Salt and butter or your favorite seasoning.
Why do I cook my corn in its husk?
Grilling your corn in its husk will fully cook through the corn and will prevent the corn from burning.
Why do I submerge the corn in water?
Submerging your corn into water will prevent the husk from burning while on the grill. Also it makes an easier process when pealing it, allowing the hairs on the corn to come off quickly.
How long do I keep the corn in water?
You should keep the corn in water from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Don’t keep it any longer because the leaves on the corn will start to come apart causing it to catch fire easily when on the grill.

Can I use any seasoning of my choice?

When you are grilling at 400F-425F the corn will cook for about 20 minutes.
How to check the doneness of the corn?
To check if your corn is ready, you will press against the corn. When it’s ready, it will let out its juices and be soft when pressed on.
Can I place the peeled corn onto the grill to get a char?
Yes you can, except don’t add any seasoning until after you char it.
How to Grill Corn
- Corn (in its husk)
- Cut off the end pieces of the corn. When cutting, feel where the top of the corn is and cut leaving an some space before the corn begins. For the bottom, cut off the stem as shown in the video.
- Peel your corn. Make sure you leave the two last layers of husk on the corn.
- Submerge your corn fully into water for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then take your corn out of the water.
- Preheat your grill to 400-425F and oil the grill by pouring some oil onto a paper towel.
- Place corn onto grill and turn it at least every 4-5 minutes.
- If done correctly, your corn will be fully cooked in about 20 minutes. To check the doneness, you can press your finger against the corn and feel the softness and juices come out.
- Take your corn off the grill and let it cool a bit so that it's easier to handle. Then, peel off the husk and butter/salt your corn. Optional: Add other seasoning of your choice.
