Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo the creamy, light and satisfying dinner! Made in less than 15 minutes and devoured in seconds. Serve with your favorite bread sticks and a light caesar salad on the side!

Ingredients:

Pasta: Fettuccine or linguine.

Shrimp: Medium shrimp.

Alfredo sauce: Butter, garlic, wine, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, salt and white pepper.

Seasoning: Salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes is optional.

Additional ingredients: Lemon slices and finely chopped parsley.

How to make Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo:

Prepping shrimp: Devein and remove the shell off the shrimp keeping the tail on then wash and dry them. Season both sides of the shrimp with salt and black pepper.

Cooking shrimp: Melt butter in a pan on a medium heat. Add in your shrimp and cook them for about 2-3 minutes per each side or until the internal temperature reaches 120F.

Making the sauce: To make the sauce, melt your butter in a heavy bottom pan and add your garlic. Cook garlic for about 1-2 minutes or until fragrant. Add in your wine and allow it to reduce by 2/3. Then pour in your heavy cream and bring to a light boil, allowing the water to evaporate in the cream; use a spoon to check the consistency of the sauce. Finish it off with parmesan cheese, white pepper and salt if needed.

Cooking pasta: Cook your pasta according to package instructions.

Adding everything together: Heat up the sauce on a low heat and add in your pasta. Coat your pasta well in the sauce and top with shrimp, lemon slices, parsley and red pepper flakes if you’d like.

  • 12 oz of medium shrimp
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of unsalted butter to cook shrimp
  • 8 oz of fettuccine pasta
  • 1-2 tbsp of freshly chopped parsley
  • 3 lemon slices
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Alfredo Sauce

  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup of white dry wine
  • 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp of white pepper
  • Salt if needed

Instructions
 

  • Devein and remove the shell off the shrimp keeping the tail on then wash and dry them.
  • Season both sides of the shrimp with salt and black pepper.
  • In a pan on medium heat, add the butter and allow it to melt. Add in your shrimp and cook them fir about 2-3 minutes per each side or until the internal temperature reaches 120F. Remove your shrimp from the pan into a bowl and cover with foil.
  • Make your sauce and then cook your pasta according to package instructions or until al dente.
  • Place your sauce back onto low heat and add in your cooked pasta. Toss your pasta with the sauce until well coated. Add in your cooked shrimp then top with lemon slices, parsley and red pepper flakes if you'd like!
  • Enjoy!

Alfredo Sauce

  • Melt the butter in a pan then add your garlic and allow it to cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
  • Add in the wine and allow it to reduce about 2/3.
  • Pour in your heavy cream and bring to a light boil, allowing the water to evaporate and the sauce to thicken. The sauce should reduce by 1/4. This can take a couple of minutes.
  • To check if your sauce is ready, dip a spoon into the sauce and swipe the spoon with your finger. If there's a clear line, then your sauce is ready. Take off the heat and stir in your parmesean cheese.
  • Season with white pepper and salt to taste.
