Shrimp pesto skewers are definitely a crowd pleaser! They are super easy to make and and can be prepped in less then 10 minutes! Make these for your next party!
Ingredients for Shrimp pesto skewers:
Shrimp: Jumbo raw shrimp.

Salt: Kosher salt.
How to make shrimp pesto skewers:
Prepping bamboo skewers: Soak your bamboo sticks in water for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Prepping shrimp: Devein and remove the shell off the shrimp keeping the tail on. Wash and dry your shrimp.
Marinating shrimp: Season one side of your shrimp with salt and mix. Add your pesto and mix. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate for 20 minutes in the fridge.
Putting on skewers: Place at least 5 shrimp per each stick as shown in the video.
Preheat your grill: Heat your grill to about 400-425F.
Grilling the skewers: Oil your grill before placing your skewers.(Use a paper towel and pour oil over it. Brush the grill with the oiled paper towel.) Place your skewers on the grill and cook for 2 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 120F.
Questions Asked:
Why do I season the shrimp on one side with salt?
Basil pesto has parmesan cheese and salt in it. If I season both sides of the shrimp, then it will be salty since the cheese contains sodium in it. I would recommend checking the amount of salt your pesto haves, cause then you won’t need to season the shrimp if it has a lot of salt. But if using my recipe of basil pesto, then you will have to salt the shrimp on one side.

- 3 tbsp of basil pesto
- Kosher salt
- 5 Bamboo sticks
Instructions

- Devein and remove the shell off the shrimp keeping the tail on. Wash your shrimp in cold water and dry with a paper towel.
