The Best Ground Taco Beef
Forget about the taco seasoning packets! Make this quick and easy taco sauce mixed in with cooked ground beef ahead of time or when needed.
- 1-1.13 lb of ground beef
- 1/2 tbsp of oil, add more if needed
- 1 tbsp of oil
- 1/4 cup of diced onions
- 1 small garlic clove
- 2 tsp of oregano
- 3 tbsp + 1tsp of cumin powder
- 1 tbsp+ 3/4 tsp of chili powder
- 1/4 tsp of chipotle chili powder
- 1 cup of tomato puree
- 1 1/4 cup of unsalted chicken stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a pan on a medium heat add in your oil. Cook your ground beef until all of the water from the beef evaporated and is fully cooked or until the beef is no longer pink.
Remove your cooked ground beef with a slotted spoon.
Heat up sauce, add in your cooked beef and mix.
How to make the sauce
In a heavy bottom pan on a low to medium heat add in your oil.
Add in your onions and cook until translucent.
Add in your garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant. After your garlic is ready add in your seasoning and mix with a spatula.
Add in your tomato puree and mix until it becomes a tomato paste consistency.
Pour in your stock and mix. Bring your sauce to a light boil allowing it to thicken. Finish the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
